Most of you have seen this book at one time or another make an appearance during class. It is a terrific, fun, and inexpensive tool that can help you overcome difficulties and the real anxiety of getting started drawing the human figure. What you might not know is that action heroes and the strong line work with bold coloring palette employed by artists to portray the energy of their forms and the scene is hardly new. In fact, the artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi and his mythical animals and heroes make Marvel Comics look tame by comparison!
